We’ll open for the Ruka summer on Thursday, June 19 at 12 PM and will be open daily from 12 PM to 9 PM.

You can easily reach BASE with the scenic gondola, which runs directly from the lower stations in Ruka Village and Ruka Valley to the top of Saarua. A ride on the gondola is free with a valid ski lift pass. However, if you don’t have an active Ruka lift pass, you can purchase a single ticket for the gondola from the ticket machines or at the ticket sales points during their opening hours. You will need a round-trip ticket if you plan to make your return journey from BASE by gondola as well.

Please note that the gondola may be closed for safety reasons during strong winds. 

Exit must be made on foot along the marked trail.  Find the latest gondola opening hours here.

Following the marked trail, you can also walk up to BASE from Ruka Village and Valley.
